I've never used Quicken or Quickbooks. Which versions of each should I learn?

Believe it or not I'm actually an accounting major and will transfer to a Cal State next year as a junior. My school offers a Quickbooks class and I will inquire what version they teach. The reason I ask is because the library has 2007 Dummies books for $1, and I was wondering if that may be too old a version. I will buy whatever versions of each that is recommended. thanks
